Est. 1948 · National general contractor

Building the next phase of American infrastructure.

An institutional general contractor delivering healthcare, education, corporate, industrial, and civic projects — on time, on budget, and without compromise.

01Markets we serve

Six sectors. One operational standard.

We build for clients whose stakeholders cannot tolerate cost overruns, schedule slippage, or quality compromise. Every market we serve is a long-term commitment, not a portfolio entry.
02Selected work

Projects delivered without compromise.

A sample of recent work across healthcare, education, corporate, and industrial markets. Every project is delivered by a team whose names appear on the buildings they complete.
03 · The firm

Three generations of building the projects that matter.

Founded in 1948, NextPhase has grown from a single Chicago job-site to a national contractor operating across nine states. We've stayed privately held and employee-owned so that the people who build our projects make the decisions on them.

Today our portfolio is anchored by institutional clients — health systems, public universities, transit authorities, and the operating companies behind some of the most recognizable buildings in the Midwest.

04How we deliver

A method earned across 1,240+ completed projects.

We don't sell a process — we run one. Four phases, the same on a $4M tenant fit-out and a $400M hospital expansion.
IPhase

Listen first

We begin with the people who will use the building. Stakeholders, end users, operators — their constraints become the project brief.

IIPhase

Plan honestly

Preconstruction estimates that hold. Logistics studied at the curb line. Every assumption captured, costed, and risk-rated before a shovel turns.

IIIPhase

Build accountably

Self-perform crews, named superintendents, and weekly client walks. The team that bids the work is the team that delivers it.

IVPhase

Hand over cleanly

A closeout package operators can actually use, training for facilities staff, and a one-year warranty walk we lead — not the owner.

06 · Safety & quality

Everyone goes home. Every day. No exceptions.

Our EMR has run below 0.55 for nine consecutive years — less than half the national average. Safety is an operating discipline, not a department: every superintendent is a safety leader, and every project begins with a written hazard-mitigation plan.

07 · Careers

The best builders in the country choose NextPhase. Then they stay.
